Kathy E, Pat B. and I headed out to Griswold Ct for our sunset/sunrise trip to the sunflower fields – worth every minute of the trip, from dinner at Mystic Pizza to a beautiful sunset, meeting up with Ralph in the morning and a trip to the vineyards.  Good shots, good friends, good times.

Three of us, Rich R., Lynn and myself made it up to Hudson for the Balloon Festival Saturday night, bringing friends and spouses with us for a fun filled night filled with conversation and a picnic. Unfortunately the wind picked up and the weather became too windy to have the 6:30 lift off but the balloon companies stayed around and were able to have the Balloon Glow at sunset.

W e may have been a small group, but we couldn’t have had a more successful trip! Karen T., Rich R., Pat B. and Mariann and her husband Steve braved the lightning, thunder and downpours till we got on the boat to have everything clear up,  blue skies and it even warmed up.

We saw 10 whales, moms and calves and very playful whales.  I hope you get to see lots of pictures! It was the best whale watch I’ve ever been on.

Looking to see who might be interested in going out for a whale watch/photo shoot.
This would be a 4 hour boat ride from Plymouth Harbor, if enough were interested we could get some group rates. Your family/friends/children would be welcome to join you.

Group rates for adults is $33.00 and children ages 4 -12 is $22.00

What I need to know is:
are you interested?
how many would be coming
which date would work best for you? Choices are 5/22, 5/23, 6/5 or 6/6. If the June dates end up being the choice we would then have the option of a 9 AM departure.
Food and drinks are available for purchase on board the boats but you are also welcome to bring your own food and drinks – no glass and no alcohol is allowed.

Looking forward to everyone’s answers.

Mike K. has set up with Hallamore Clydesdales for us to visit the stables on Sunday and Monday this coming week, April 18 and 19.

The stable is located in Lakeville on rt. 18 about a mile beyond the Middleboro rotary. Directions will follow.

On Sunday we will meet at 10:00 AM and be able to roam the stables and they will take out one of the horses for us.

Monday they will loading the horses for a parade around 10:00 AM so it is suggested that we arrive @ 8:30 as they are getting the horses ready.

The handlers and groomers are preparing the horses for us, therefore we need to get an idea of who will be attending. Please e-mail me by Friday noon time so that Mike can notify the stable. Space is limited. Let me know if you would be interested in attending.

Thanks,
Mariann

If anyone is looking for something to do in the next couple of weeks there is a daffodil festival in Meriden Connecticut. The festival itself is April 25 and 26. It is held in Hubbard Park and all information can be found by going to www.daffodilfestival.com. The season has been early this year with many daffodils already in bloom. The park boasts having over 600,000 plants – I would guess that many are in bloom now and you would not have to fight the crowds.

Here’s a couple of my shots from this field trip

There were 10 participants in Thursday night’s moon shoot. Looking for thoughts, comments and images!

Where is everybody??? Seems to be the 5 of us only. How are we going to get everyone comfortable with this?

Looking at Saturday March 20 @ 10:00 AM for our trip to the Botanical Gardens – Who would be interested?  Tripods and macro lense and a ride to Providence is all that is needed.

I do have room for 4 or 5 in my car if the ride is holding you back.  Entrance cost is $3.00.  Let me know if you are interested.  A group of 10 or more gets a discount and you don’t even have to be a senior!
